Occupational Health and Safety Policy
Red Builts appreciate the benefits of an organization with a ‘safety conscious’ attitude. We recognize that by maintaining a safe work environment will come, not only a minimization of the risk of injury, but also improved productivity as the workforce is able to confidently focus on its job at hand.
To support Red Builts’s commitment to all facets of Occupational, Health and Safety (OH&S), we have developed and implemented an OH&S system that exceeds the requirements of ISO 45001:2018.
Red Builts’s commitment towards the Health, Safety and Welfare of our employees is of extreme importance within our operations. We recognize and accepts our responsibility towards ensuring the Health, Safety and Welfare of all our employees and contractors, wherever they are working.
Resources, conducive to the Red Builts’s emphasis towards Occupational Health and Safety, have been made available to provide and maintain for the physical and psychological well-being of all our employees.
The Management will demonstrate, through policy development and review, and compliance with current Acts, Regulations, Standards and Codes of Practice, that health and safety receive priority attention on a continual basis. Management will also establish and monitor OHS objectives and targets so that we can be assured that our obligations for OHS are continually met and improved.
All employees, contractors, sub-contractors and visitors will be expected to demonstrate a willingness, to embrace the concept of safe work practices, and a safe working environment. Employees, contractors and sub-contractors will be required to work in a healthy and safe manner, whilst discouraging others from working in an unsafe manner.
Education/Training of all employees, contractors and sub-contractors on Health and Safety issues is considered to be a natural course of employment, and all employees will be encouraged to embrace this concept.
This policy is an outline of the commitment, which this Red Builts places upon Occupational Health and Safety within the workplace.
Environmental Policy
The understanding of the need for environmental protection forms an integral part of the Red Builts General Contracting & Building Co. business philosophy. We are committed to protecting the environment and believe that our Company has a responsibility not to compromise the ability of future generations to sustain their needs.
The impact that any of our activities, those of our Clients/Contractors, may have on the environment is an area of concern.
We seek to reduce our consumption of non-renewable resources, and whenever practicable will select materials which have the least negative impact on the environment throughout their life cycle.
Environmental protection will have equal status to considerations for Health, Safety and Quality.
In confirming our commitment to protection of the environment we will treat environmental regulations that apply to our activities as minimum standards and where appropriate aim to better them. We will provide information to sub-contractors, customers and end users of our services to ensure that misuse will not be the cause of damage to the environment.
The Environmental Policy will be brought to the attention of all Employees and Sub-Contractors and will be made available to the General Public and reviewed annually to assess its effectiveness, compliance with environmental law and to ensure that it reflects changing needs and circumstances.
Whilst recognising the fundamental responsibility of the Company and its Employees for environmental protection, particular attention will be paid to the following areas: –
Waste Management – Waste will be kept to a minimum, compatible with best trade practises. Only licensed waste contractors will be used to dispose of waste. Our sub-contractors shall be encouraged to apply the principals of this policy but shall be required to ensure they comply with the minimum relevant legislation.
Flora and Fauna in and around project locations – Every effort shall be made to minimise the effects of the Company activity on the flora and fauna within and around project sites. Specific tender stage checks shall be carried out to establish site-specific conditions and the presence of any protected and or at risk species.
Recycling – Whenever practicable, materials will be purchased from suppliers who obtain products from replaceable sources.
Noise/Dust Light – Will be suppressed, where practical, to ensure that no nuisance is caused to neighbouring establishments or the general public.
Conservation of energy – We shall introduce and monitor efficient and economic use of energy in the form of heating and lighting with the objective of reducing the use of energy.
Training – All Employees shall be made aware of the objectives of this policy and the contribution expected from them. Employees with high-risk tasks shall be trained in the environmental aspects associated with those tasks.
Legislative and other Requirements Compliance – Regular environmental assessments shall be carried out to ensure we fulfil our commitment to the compliance with the legislation and other requirements with the application of best available practice in environmental protection.
Protection of the Environment Including the Prevention of Pollution – Environmental risk assessments will be carried out to ensure best practice in working practices with every possible countermeasure utilised to protect the environment and prevent any form of pollution.
All Employees are equally responsible for complying with this Environmental Policy and are encouraged to suggest improvements to this end.
These arrangements and objectives will be managed by myself but administered by the Management Team utilising documented information.
Quality Management Policy
One of Red Builts’s key focus areas is to return to the fundamental ideal of delivering a quality product, on time for a fair price. Accredited to the internationally recognized standard ISO 9001:2008, Red Builts prides itself in delivering customer satisfaction through services guided by its Quality Management System (QMS).
In order to ensure that Red Builts projects are delivered with the highest level of quality to the client, we have adopted the following policy:
- All employees within our organization shall be committed to the effective and efficient implementation, management and improvement of quality. They are also responsible to identify and prevent activities occurring that do not meet specified standards.
- Products and services provided by our organization will meet or exceed customer needs and be in accordance with stated statutory and regulatory requirements.
- The current Quality Management Representative is responsible for ensuring the compilation, distribution, effective implementation, amendment and continued maintenance of the quality system manuals. All system outcomes generated within the quality management framework are to accord with specified corporate objectives that meet stated quality, customer and statutory requirements.
- All quality system documentation is regularly reviewed to ensure that existing policies, procedures and practices are suitable, remain relevant and capable of meeting specified quality, customer and statutory requirements.
- We will assure quality through the provision of appropriate resources and provide employees with the necessary training to ensure compliance with stated quality system requirements.
- Preferred suppliers are encouraged and assisted in the implementation of appropriated improvement programs that will ensure the integrity and continued preservation of the organization’s quality management system.
